The first edition of the Digital Women's Day (Jfd) opened its doors this Thursday, June 13, 2019, in Dakar.This day brings "light and connects women who are working to revolutionize the world through digital". This year, for the first time in its history, and in addition to its European edition, the Jfd is exported to Senegal, host country of the first edition of the day in Africa, considered as "the first continent of female entrepreneurship " in the world.
According to its initiator, the Jfd has today become "an essential international event to celebrate female innovation. And this year's edition is "daring, in keeping with its DNA: a double event, organized for the 7th time in France, and for the first time in Africa".
"More than just an event, the Jfd is a real concentrate of meetings, sharing of knowledge and experiences that aims to inspire and encourage all women to innovate and undertake in the field of digital."
Thus, during two days (13 and 14) "rich and inspiring, resolutely turned towards a more inclusive responsible digital society, articulated around inspiration, experience and networking", the participants put the focus on " Learning expedition ", the digital ecosystem in Senegal and women's entrepreneurship in Africa.
The choice of Dakar is explained by the fact that it is considered "to be part of the top 10 most high-tech cities" of the black continent.
